What families can see

CCSD identifies Infinite Campus as its student information system for grades, assignments, attendance, schedules, academic plans, reports, fees, and district notices (Clark County School District [CCSD], n.d.-a).

A practical routine

Choose one weekly check-in day. Look for missing evidence, grade changes, attendance errors, upcoming assessments, and messages. Ask the student what the information means before deciding on a response.

Separate practice, mastery, and habits of learning

Formative and summative work

CCSD describes formative assessment as feedback used during learning and summative assessment as evidence of learning after instruction. District grading guidance generally weights summative evidence more heavily (CCSD, n.d.-b).

Ask the teacher

When a grade is confusing, ask which assignments are formative or summative, whether evidence is missing, what reassessment is available, and how non-academic habits are reported.

Credits and diploma pathways

CCSD directs students to participate in academic planning with a counselor, enroll in coursework aligned with goals, and have parents or guardians review the plan. Diploma and endorsement requirements vary, so review the current official page and the student’s transcript (CCSD, n.d.-c).

School choice

CCSD offers zoned, open-enrollment, magnet, and specialized options. Program availability, capacity, transportation, and application rules differ, so families should compare the fit and confirm current deadlines on the official choice site (CCSD, n.d.-d).

Career and Technical Education

The CCSD CTE department supports more than 50 industry-standard programs of study and publishes career and course-planning resources. Cybersecurity is one available program area (CCSD Career and Technical Education, n.d.).

Student services

CCSD Student Services provides special-education resources and links to specialized departments. For individual concerns, contact the school, ask which process applies, and submit requests in writing when a formal response is needed.

Resolve a concern

Describe the concern with examples, ask what policy or plan applies, identify the responsible person, and follow up in writing. Use district-level resources if the school cannot resolve the issue.
