Educator professional growth
A plain-language starting point for CCSD licensed educators who are organizing professional learning for salary advancement.
The CCSD Professional Growth System allows licensed educators to accrue Contact Units toward movement across the Professional Salary Table. Column movement follows successful accrual of 225 approved CUs, together with the required annual request and submission process (Clark County School District [CCSD], 2026).
A Contact Unit is a unit used within PGS. Current guidance generally treats three qualifying unpaid hours as one CU and six qualifying paid supplemental-rate or stipend hours as one CU, unless the activity has a fixed value or an exception (Clark County Education Association [CCEA], 2026).
CCEA offers a PGS Companion Guide, member support sessions, professional-learning partners, microcredentials, and assistance when a member believes CUs or salary advancement were wrongfully denied (CCEA, 2026).
The FamilyPD PGS Assistant helps an educator identify a likely activity category, estimate possible CUs, organize evidence, and prepare for ELMS. It does not approve CUs, replace official forms, submit records, or determine eligibility.
